Big Brothers Big Sisters of Yellowstone County

For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 5 through 18, in communities across the country. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.

Our local agency was founded in 1974 by a dedicated group of Yellowstone County residents.  In our first year, we served a handful of children.  Our agency now serves over 100 children in our community.  We are incredibly proud of this phenomenal growth, but we still have much more work to do.

In order to keep pace with the rapid growth of our community and the increase in the needs of children and families, we must meet this ambitious goal to reach more families.  This requires engaging record numbers of volunteer Bigs and raising funds to support these matches.

Meet our 2020 Big of the Year

Our mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

Our vision is that all youth achieve their full potential.

We partner with parents/guardians, volunteers and others in the community and hold ourselves accountable for each child in our program achieving higher aspirations, greater confidence, and better relationships; avoidance of risky behaviors and educational success.
